Curriculum and Textbooks
We follow the grade level curriculum established by the Jackson Area Catholic Schools which follow the Diocese of Lansing curriculum.
This means we will not use textbooks in their entirety. We will use supplemental materials to ensure all benchmarks are reached. If you would like to view the benchmarks you may find them at: the Diocesan website or the JACS website.
We use the following textbooks in Kindergarten:
Sadlier Phonics and Open Court
Sadlier Mathematics: Progress in Mathematics
Sadlier-Oxford Religion: We Believe
Universal Publishing Handwriting: Writing Our Catholic Faith
Students will have hands on experiences, class discussions, and field trips to ensure the benchmarks are met for science and social studies.
Catholic Prayers
The following list contains prayers we will recite together in class and are expected to be memorized.
1 st Quarter: Sign of the Cross Grace Before Meals (Bless us O Lord...)
2 nd Quarter: Doxology (Glory Be)
3 rd Quarter: Hail Mary
4 th Quarter: Our Father
